OUR HISTORY
The SSS Network / Khao Lak Evacuation Center and Clinic Facility is located in Phang Nga province, approximately 1.5 hours by road north of Phuket. In December 2004, the Khao Lak Evacuation Center opened its doors in conjunction with the partnership of the Phuket International Hospital (PIH), to the local dive community.

Special Notice: This facility was closed due to the devastating Tsunami in December of 2004. We are currently housed in temporary quarters while searching for a new clinic location. To best serve our community we remain fully staffed and prepared for all emergencies.

Facility Set up

As this region grew into the "Gateway to the Andaman", the need for rapid and professional response to diving accidents became apparent. Serving the Similan and Surin Islands,Richelieu rockas well as local wrecks and lake diving. We serve as more than just and evacuation facility. Education, training and community outreach are part of our services.

As part of the tsunami recovery process we are also taking part in community redevelopment through basic medical training, safety oversight for projects and donations of services and equipment.

We take our commitment to Khao Lak seriously. With safety and caring as our priority we can say that this will once again become the premierdive region in Thailand.

If you are visiting Khao Lak, please come by and visit. Call during business hours and we'll chat and have a cup of tea!

We delight in giving informative chamber toursat our Andaman treatment center, howeverwe do ask that you contact us during normal business hoursby phone to arrange an appropriate time to ensure the privacy of any patient treatments that are being conducted.

OUR FACILITY & EQUIPMENT

The primary aim of the Khao Lak Evacuation Center is to provide an in-depth assesment of patients who have suspected decompression illness (DCI) or other dive related injuries If needed, we provide transport for further evaluation to the Phuket multiplace recompression chamber, or the Phukrt International Hospital. This is the first and only service of it's kind for the area. As well as providing these services, substantial time and effort is invested into the education and training of the local professional divers in subjects such as Dive Accident Prevention and Management, Oxygen Provision, Hazardous Marine Life Injuries and General Dive Safety.
We even offer a Tender Operator program (TOP) to dive professionalsinterested in expanding their medical knowledge.

Much effort is also expanded in training the local dive community in Dive safety, raising awareness of signs and symptomsof potential DCI and basic first aid.
