BMM Cancun

Introduction

BMM CANCUN  is located in the North of Quintana Roo state on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.  

In 1995 Buceo Medico Mexicano (BMM) Cancun opened an operation here to support the Recreational Diving Community, the Local Dive Operators and the great number of Lobster Fishermen. 

HBO Therapy

In 1999 this facility started providing Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) for other kinds of illnesses such as diabetes, gangrene, burn victims, wound healing as well as other illness known to respond to HBO Treatment. 

Our HBO Therapy Services have been well received in the local community as patients do not need to travel to Mexico City (1000 miles) for treatment. Together with our competitive pricing policy this greatly decreases the cost to our patients who are in need of this service.

Fishermen Support - Charity Programs

Isla Mujeres, close to Cancun is a small Island 2 Kms long and a 1/2 Km wide. This Island is a major  area of Lobster fishing activities.  The 4 fishing co-operatives here have in total 300 Fisherman Divers. 

The Lobster season starts in July and finishes in February. The fishermen dive with a Hoo-ka system (which is basically a surface compressor) and every Diver makes two deep dives per day. The average dive is 110 fsw with a total bottom time of 40 - 60 minutes and an approximate surface interval of 60 minutes.

On average we treat about 40 fishermen per season for DCI.

We also receive Recreational Sports Divers and patients from Rio Lagartos and Tizimin in Yucatan State.
